This resource gives access to bibliographical information and abstracts relating primarily to literature in English (monographs, periodicals, dissertations, conference reports, government reports) and audiovisual media in all areas of pedagogy, including schools and class instruction; kindergarten education; special education; primary, secondary, and tertiary education; teacher training; adult education; and vocational training. It draws on two directories: Resources in Education (RIE) and the Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE).

The FIS Bildung Literaturdatenbank has journal articles, monographs, chapters from collective volumes, gray literature, and online documents from the fields of pedagogy, empirical research on education, educational management, educational policy, the history of education, schools and instruction, higher education, basic and continuing vocational training, childhood, childcare, early childhood education, youth education, adult and continuing education, social and special pedagogy, media education, and social work.

The joint union catalogue (GVK) is the freely accessible section of the union database K10plus of the GBV and the SWB. The GVK contains over 72.6 million titles with more than 183.0 million proofs of ownership of books, journals, articles, congress reports, microforms, electronic documents, data carriers, music, maps, etc. from approx. 1,110 GBV and SWB libraries. Titles that are only available in SWB libraries are hidden. In addition, the journal references of all subito delivery libraries from Germany and Austria as well as other German university libraries are included.

In OLC you have access to over 40,8 million articles from over 25.870 scientific periodicals. They are updated with the tables of contents of more than 10.000 periodicals from Special Subject Collections. Please press 'availability' to see if a journal in your result list is in the wzb-library.

This index of historical periodicals facilitates bibliographical research in approximately 4,800 journals in the arts, humanities, and social science in one user interface. It covers the period from 1739 to 2000 and gives access to publications in over 37 specialized areas and more than 40 languages and dialects.

The database indexes journal essays, reports, congress reports, and other kinds of literature on all areas of sports sciences, including sports medicine and sports sociology. It also has abstracts dating back to 2001.

Web of Science (WoS) is an extensive, multidisciplinary, bibliographical database with references to contributions in journals, books, proceedings, and other sources in the social sciences, the arts and humanities, natural science, and engineering. The WZB has licensed the following ancillary data banks: -Science Citation Index Expanded (1995 -) - Social Sciences Citation Index (includes approximately 4,500 social science and economics journals from 55 disciplines, such as psychology, sociology, and anthropology, 1972 -) - Arts & Humanities Citation Index (with references to approximately 2,300 journals in the arts and humanities, 1975 -) - Book Citation Index (with books published, 2005 -) - Conference Proceedings Citation Index - Science (CPCI-S, conferences, 1990 -) - Conference Proceedings Citation Index - Social Science & Humanities (CPCI-SSH, conferences, 1990 -) - Current Contents Connect (1998 -) - Data Citation Index (research data, 1900 -) - Derwent Innovations Index (edited patents, 1963 -) - Zoological Records (technical database, 1964 -) - Biosis Citation Index (technical database, 1928 -) - Index Chemicus (with search function for chemical structures, 1993 -) - Current Chemical Reactions (technical database, 1985 -) Another special feature of the WoS is that it lists each document's sources (cited references) and gives their citation frequency (times cited).
