eHRAF world cultures

Research area: Ethnology Language: EnglishThe eHRAF World Cultures database currently contains approximately 500,000 pages. More than 200 national and ethnic groups are indexed on the basis of field research published in ethnographic monographs, essays, and manuscripts, whose content is used as "primary data." The information is subject-indexed at the paragraph level by means of a highly sophisticated system-the "Outline of Cultural Materials" (OCM). The OCM contains more than 700 different elements of classification. A full-text search of keywords is also possible. The database is constantly updated.
