Web of scienceResearch area: General / Interdisciplinary, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Educational Research, Ethnology, Linguistics and Literature Science, History, Art, Philosophy, Law, Science, Psychology, Geography, Information Science Language: English Period: 2005 - The Book Citation Index contains over 40,000 (as per 2013) editorially selected scientific books (online and print editions) published since 2005 in a wide range of disciplines. 10,000 new titles are to be added each year, including volumes published as a series. As a module in the Web of Science Core Collection, the Book Citation Index adds over 13.5 million references to that collection. Among other things, it allows users to search for comprehensive bibliographic information and to display the accurate numbering of citations (in journals, conference papers, and books). -

The electronic full texts in Russian and English focus on the politics, culture, economy, and society of Russia and the CIS countries. The database contains materials such as hourly updates from the Russian and English press (regional and supraregional newspapers and journals as well as TV and radio monitoring services), statistics (Goskomstat), legal texts, government publications, letters patents (Rospatent), fiction, biographical databases of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INION), Internet sources, address and telephone books, and business directories (Yellow Pages). -

The WZB license agreement with JSTOR includes access to the following collections: The Arts & Sciences I Collection (119 titles), the Arts & Sciences II Collection (125 titles) and the Business Collection (47 titles). -

The material is indexed in a searchable presentation of 99 areas covering nearly all aspects of American and British law. The more than 21,000 works encompass case compilations, speeches, court books, pamphlets, and letters. -

This material is drawn from the Lillian Goldman Law Library at Yale University. The database has texts (e.g., proceedings and reports) from constitutional conventions; city charters and early U.S. state codes; law dictionaries; and records from the Primary Source Microfilm collection Published Records of the American Colonies. This important digital archive for the legal, cultural, and social history of the Anglo-American cultural space is searchable in full-text. -

Research area: Law, History, Political Science Language: English Period: 1600 - 1926 This full-text database comprises documents, reports, and literature on court proceedings in America, the British empire, and France from 1600 to 1926. It also contains spectacular court proceedings against historical figures and artists (e.g., Charles I., Oscar Wilde, Sacco and Vanzetti, and Joan of Arc) and other persons of note. The "unofficial published accounts of trials, official trial documents, briefs and arguments" are an important source of material for both legal and sociocultural history. More than 10,000 titles are available from the holdings of the Harvard and Yale law libraries, the library of the Bar of the City of New York, and the Law Library of Congress. Approximately 2 million pages are searchable in full-text. -

Research area: Law, History, Political Science Language: English Period: 1832 - 1978 This Thomson-Gale database permits extensive research on modern law and political changes in the United States from the perspective of the Supreme Court and the parties involved in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Users can conduct full-text searches of more than 350,000 records and court briefs from 150,000 cases that came before the Supreme Court between 1832 and 1978. Nearly all aspects of the rulings handed down by the Supreme Court during that period of American legal history are covered. In particular, the site contains primary documents on interpretations of the U.S. Constitution and its amendments, the part that the administration of justice has played in American history, state sovereignty, slavery, the government's role in wartime and peacetime, the free-market economy, the relation between management and organized labor, issues of discrimination and basic rights, the protection of intellectual property, environmental protection, public health, and the relation between race, gender, and social origin. -

The publications come from U.S. congressional committees and working groups and from other government authorities. The database thus offers an abundance of material on all areas of U.S. history, policy, economy, and culture. In many cases the scope broadens if relations with the United States are involved.
