Journalist in Residence: Olga Konsevych
The Ukrainian journalist Olga Konsevych is visiting the WZB as a journalist in residence until September.
Olga Konsevych is the editor-in-chief at 24tv.ua, one of the largest news outlets in Ukraine. Before Russia's attack, about 135 journalists and reporters were working for the website across Ukraine. Now there are about 70 left, reporting from different parts of the country. Some journalists were evacuated to Lviv in western Ukraine.
Olga was born and raised in Kyiv. She earned a PhD in Communication Studies from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
During her two-month stay with the WZB and the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS), she will, among other things, focus on the demographic challenges arising within the occupied territories, the LGBTQ+ community in Ukraine, and forced displacement both from and within Ukraine.
