Giuseppe Pietrantuono is PhD candidate at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at University of Mannheim and Assistant at the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich. He studied applied linguistics, sociology, political science and economics in Freiburg i. Üe, Berne, and Durham. He graduated in 2010 at the University of Berne with the thesis „Du Schweizer, Ich Eidgenosse. Eine Diskursanalyse zur Einbürgerungspraxis in der Gemeinde Schwyz“.
Until November 2015 he was a visiting researcher at the ‘Migration, Integration, Transnationalization’ research unit. During his time at the WZB, Giuseppe Piertrantuono workedon hisdissertation project, in which he investigated the causal effects of citizenship.
