Short bio

Dr. Karin-Irene Eiermann has joined the WZB in January 2018 as Head of the Administrative Office of the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society (The German Internet Institute). Previously she was the administrative managing director of the Center for Cybersecurity Research at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Earlier in her career she held positions as scientific officer for ICT and international projects in the ICT field at acatech – the National Academy of Science and Engineering and as special counsel to the director and research program coordinator at Hasso Plattner Institute for IT Systems Engineering at the University of Potsdam. Karin-Irene Eiermann studied business administration and economics in Berlin and Chengdu (P.R. China). She also holds a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies from Washington University in St. Louis (USA) and a PhD in modern history from Humboldt University Berlin (Germany).
