SUMMARY:Methodological Innovations in Inequality and Social Policy Research
DESCRIPTION:Conference\nThe conference focuses on methodological innovation
 s and their potential for the study of inequality and social policy. A var
 iety of guest speakers and WZB colleagues will present state-of-the-art re
 search on inequality and social policy that features some form of methodol
 ogical innovation. The guest speakers come from Denmark\, the UK\, the US\
 , Sweden\, and Israel\; and from sociology\, economics\, public policy\, p
 olitical science\, and statistics. The innovations include novel estimatio
 n techniques\, measures\, samples\, data\, and comparisons\, along with br
 oader unique methodological strategies. The presentations are intended to 
 show the usefulness of the methods for answering substantive questions\; b
 ut also the potential applicability of these techniques to other areas of 
 research. All presentations and discussion will be in English.
