Ethnic Ties and Political Mobilization
Abstract
Theoretical background and objectives
This project draws on survey data which have been gathered in the project "Religious Fundamentalism and Radicalization in Comparative Perspective" in 8 different countries, namely Germany, United States, Cyprus, Turkey, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, and Kenia.
Focusing on Germany, Israel, and the United States as countries where Muslims represent a minority, we study whether and to what extent inter-ethnic contacts influence the attitudes of Muslims with respect to religiously motivated violence.
