1st Berlin Micro Theory and Behavioral Economics PhD Conference
We are delighted to announce that the inaugural Berlin Micro Theory and Behavioral Economics PhD Conference will take place from July 7 to 9, 2025, at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center.
Objective
The conference is dedicated to fostering discussion and collaboration among early- career researchers in the fields of microeconomic theory and behavioral economics. We aim to foster an environment that promotes insightful discussions, constructive feedback, and networking opportunities with peers and experts in the field.
Eligibility
We invite submissions from current PhD students (at time of submission). In line with our objective to promote the work of early-career researchers we only accept submissions which are single-authored or with junior co-authors only (with no co-author having obtained their doctoral degree earlier than October 2020).
Submissions may take the form of papers or extended abstracts, and we welcome submission of early-stage research. Extended abstracts should be no longer than three pages.

Financing
The conference will be generously hosted and financed by the Berlin School of Eco- nomics and the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. There is no workshop fee. Conference meals and accommodation will be covered for all participants. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any travel assistance.
Program & Keynotes
We are happy to announce the conference will feature keynotes by Dorothea Kübler (WZB, Technical University of Berlin) and Paul Heidhues (DICE Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf).
Selected speakers will be assigned a 30-minute slot to present their paper. Each presentation will be followed by a 5-minute discussion led by PhD students or post- docs from the Berlin School of Economics, and a 10-minute Q&A session with the audience. There will be no parallel sessions.
Exception: Students of the Berlin School of Economics or affiliated institutions may apply, but will be assigned to a poster session.
