Book Discussion "The Internationalists. How a Radical Plan to Outlaw War Remade the World"

"The Internationalists. How a Radical Plan to Outlaw War Remade the World" claims that the prohibition of the use of force brought about a radical change in the nature of international law — the Kellogg-Briand Pact, its apparent failure to stop the Second World War and then anchoring of the prohibition of the use of force in the United Nations Charter as a kind of major constitutional moment of the international community.

We are pleased that we will have the authors of the "The Internationalist", Oona Hathaway (Yale Law School) and Scott Shapiro (Yale Law School), with us to discuss their recent publication. The invited discussants include Anna Geis (Helmut Schmidt University), Tarak Barkawi (London School of Economics and Political Science), Geir Ulfstein (University of Oslo/PluriCourts), Andreas Føllesdal (University of Oslo/PluriCourts), Oliver Diggelmann (University of Zürich) and Paolo Palchetti (University of Macerata) .

The event is organized and sponsored by the journal "Global Constitutionalism" and co-sponsored by PluriCourts and the WZB Center for Global Constitutionalism. The event is open to the public but due limited capacities we kindly ask you to register.
