Alper H. Yağcı was a guest from the University of Massachusetts Amherst on a writing fellowship from Mellon-ACLS at WZB from September until December 2015. He was a PhD candidate of Political Science since 2009 and defended his Dissertation with the title: “Managing the Agricultural Biotechnology Revolution“ under the care of Prof. Peter M. Haas successfully. His research project was a comparative study of the public regulation of transgenic agriculture in developing countries, focusing on issues of biosafety and intellectual property rights. He graduated with BA in Political Science and History and MA in Political Science and International Relations from Bogaziçi University.
