Ana Helena Palermo Kuss is the Scientific Officer of the President for Economic and Science Policy. Previously, she was advisor to the President at ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim. She studied economics at the University of Freiburg and international relations at the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil. Her PhD thesis at the University of Freiburg focused on redistribution preferences and the economic effects of a basic income. Her work focuses on German and international economic policy, climate economics, and tax and transfer systems.
