Anna Herrhausen was a guest of the research unit 'Transnational Conflicts and International Institutions' from March 2006 to March 2007. She studied philosophy, politics, and economics at Oxford University in the United Kingdom, where she received her bachelor's degree. She received her master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University in New York, USA. At the time she was a Ph.D. candidate; the subject of her dissertation is an investigation into how organizations which are part of United Nations peacekeeping missions can better coordinate their work. Her research draws upon insights derived from recent studies of networks and organizational cooperation, which are based in particular upon complex peacekeeping missions and UN controlled interim administrations. Anna Herrhausen completed her dissertation in April 2008. She now works for McKinsey & Company, Berlin.
