Chase Foster is a PhD student in Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. From June to early August 2017 he is a visiting researcher in the research units "Inequality and Social Policy" and "Democracy and Democratization" in the context of the WZB-Harvard Merit Fellowship. His research focuses on the origin and evolution of technocratic institutions of market regulation, and the influence of the ‘regulatory state’ on political and economic integration in Europe and North America. At WZB, Chase will be working on his dissertation, which comparatively examines the development of competition law in the European Union and United States, from the late 19th century until the present.
