Prof. Dr. Jacint Jordana Casajuana

Jacint Jordana Casajuana is a visiting researcher at the Global Governance unit and Professor of Political Science and Public Administration at University of Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) as well as president of the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). His research focuses on the analysis of comparative public policies from a multilevel perspective, with special attention to regulatory policies and their specialized institutions. He is the academic coordinator of EU-Values, a Jean Monnet Network devoted to values and democracy in foreign policy issues. His GG-project aims to better understand the role of IRAs as non-majoritarian institutions in democratic countries.
Jacint Jordana Casajuana was invited to present his findings at the ECPR Standing Group on Regulatory Governance organized by the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin (11-13 June 2025). The talk was titled "Measuring Agency Independence: A Comparative Approach Across Sectors and Approaches" (Panel: Metrics of Regulation: Advancing the Measurement of Regulation).
Earlier, Jacint Jordana Casajuana was a guest of the WZB's research unit Transnational Conflicts and International Institutions (TKI) from November 2009 until July 2010, as well as in summer 2007. His main area of research at the time was public policy analysis, with special attention given to regulatory policy and regulatory governance.
