Short bio

James Conran is a guest researcher at the WZB from June 2014 until February 2015, affiliated with the Inequality and Social Policy Unit. James is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and student affiliate at the Minda de Gunzberg Center for European Studies at Harvard University. His research interests are centered on the comparative political economy and political sociology of the developed democracies. At the WZB he is working on his dissertation project, which examines cross-national variation and historical evolution of working time regimes. Before coming to MIT he received a BA International in History and Politics from University College Dublin and an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics. He also worked at the Economic and Social Research Institute in Dublin.
