Laura Schimmöller

Laura Schimmöller is a doctoral researcher at Freie Universität Berlin and a visiting researcher in the Global Sociology unit at the WZB. She obtained her master’s degrees in European Studies at KU Leuven and in International Relations and Law at Hitotsubashi University. Her research interests lie in the areas of social movements, social change, (more-than-)human rights, and environmental sociology. In her doctoral dissertation, she examines how transnational environmental movements challenge and transform institutionalised responses to the climate crisis by re-imagining (non)human rights norms.
