Short bio

Moisés V. Balestro, PhD degree in Social Sciences, is a visiting scholar at WZB associated to the Inequality and Social Policy research unit with a scholarship from Brazilian CAPES Foundation. He is a professor in Social Sciences at the Research Center and Graduate Program on the Americas (Centro de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação sobre as Américas) at the University of Brasilia and leads a research group on Comparative Studies in Economic Sociology. He also belongs to a research group coordinated in Brazil by Renato Boschi - Public Policies and Development Strategies. His research interests include tripartism in its connections with economic development, diversity of capitalism and sociology of markets. Recently, his projects have focused on public employment policies, industrial and skills policies in Brazil as well as state and business relations in Latin America.
