CV
Tim Gemkow was a doctoral candidate in the WZB research unit, 'Transnational Conflicts and International Institutions' (TKI), where he resided from June 2008 to March 2012. During his stay at the WZB, Mr. Gemkow, a PhD candidate at the Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies (BTS), continued to work on his dissertation, concerning the influcence of dispute settlement bodies on political developments in the World Trade Organization (WTO). Within the framework of the TKI research unit's program, he was investigating the impacts of international and transnational legalization processes on the distribution of political power, and the corresponding legitimacy conflicts which evolve from that distribution. Tim Gemkow's research interests concern primarily borderline issues between political science and law (e.g., the 'constitutionalization' of international order), and political science and economics (e.g., the economics of foreign trade policies). Between 2012–2013, he worked for the Bundesbank in Frankfurt. Since 2013, he is with the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
