Quick poll: Internet policy

Abstract

Between October 2013 and May 2014, the research group conducted a quick poll to gain an impression of the politicization of Internet policy in Germany. The survey was distributed via Internet policy blogs. It enabled us to investigate when and how members of the blog communities were politicized, that is to say, when and why, in their opinion, questions related to the Internet became political. On the basis of the poll results, we identified key moments of politicization but also found an astonishing degree of stability with regard to the issues that contributed to the politicization of the Internet policy field over the last decades.
